Meet Our Assistant Campus Director

Cari Schoonover

Ever since graduating from The Soma Institute in 2003, Cari has been devoted to the field of clinical massage therapy, not only as a practitioner in the healing arts but also as an educator to those pursuing a career. Cari accepted a position after graduation as a Teaching Assistant at Soma and as a massage therapist in a chiropractic office.

Cari was determined to use her field experience to become a Core Instructor at the school and in 2005 was approved by the Illinois State Board of Education to teach at Soma. She spent the next five years working to instill the same passion, knowledge, and motivation in her students that she received when she was a student. She is truly honored to have worked with so many gifted and compassionate colleagues. 

In 2011, Cari was promoted to Assistant Campus Director of The Soma Institute. She knows the incredible career that awaits each Student Clinical Massage Therapist and so strives to help every student get through the rigorous program successfully. She remains committed to the team that produces the best massage therapists in the nation!
