Ellen Letten

Ellen is originally from London, England and has been living in Chicago for the past 12 years. She is a Soma graduate and has a degree in Mathematics, but has always been very interested in natural healing. She found that Soma’s logical and analytical approach to massage really appealed to her, as she felt it could help bridge the gap between the current scientific approach to medicine and more natural methods of healing. 

Ellen began working at Soma as a teaching assistant. She went on to become a faculty member and the Program Director of the Clinical Massage Therapy Master Program before moving into Financial Aid.

In addition to Ellen’s work at Soma, she owns The Healing Room, which is also home to the private practice of several Soma graduates. In her own private practice she works with clients in chronic and acute pain using myofascial techniques, positional release and breathing re-education. She believes strongly in educating and empowering her clients to reduce their stress, achieve a healthier lifestyle, and become a part of the healing process.  

As Financial Aid Advisor, Ellen finds it rewarding to work with people to find the right financial solution so that they can enjoy the massage therapy profession.
