Heidi began her career performing massage therapy alongside a chiropractor in Chicagoand doing contract work at one of the Chicago hotels.  She also worked with a health and fitness center in Maywood.   After a short time she began to concentrate on her work with the chiropractor’s office and the fitness center.  In 2008 Heidi landed her dream position when she was hired as a Massage Therapist in Google’s Chicago office.

I spoke with Heidi about her time at Soma and she said, “I wouldn’t be anywhere without Soma.  The education I received while there gave me the proper foundation and skill set to be working where I am now.   I really enjoy working with people and have found that having the ability to make people feel better has been rewarding.  Another perk with this career is the schedule flexibility, which has allowed me the freedom to travel.”

When asked about obstacles she had to overcome Heidi has the following to say, “The biggest obstacle initially was consistency.  It took me a while to find the work I really wanted to do but it seemed that every time I got discouraged I found that success with a particular client I worked on or protocol I used reminded me of the reasons I chose this career.”
