At The Soma Institute, you'll find a comprehensive academic support system designed to ensure your success throughout your career.

From the moment you enroll until the day you graduate and beyond, our faculty members and administrative staff will do everything they can to put you on the road to a successful career. It's just one of the reasons why The Soma Institute's job placement rate has reached above 96% (as reported in 2011 to the Illinois State Board of Education). Soma cannot, however, guarantee job placement.

Our support programs include:

Academic Tutoring:
Soma tutors help you develop effective note-taking techniques, time management skills, study skills, and test-taking strategies. All Soma tutoring is free of charge.

Podcast Library:
Soma has established a clinical science Podcast library. The Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology Soma Podcast Library is made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal MP3 player. The downloaded lecture "episodes" can be played, replayed, or archived.

Counseling Referral Services:
Professional counseling is available to help you achieve your educational objectives, and to assist in resolving any personal problems that may interfere with your academic success. This counseling is available by appointment and is free of charge.

Free Lifetime Massage Treatments:
All students and graduates are entitled to unlimited, complimentary massage treatments in the on-campus Teaching Clinic.

Payment of Initial Licensing Fees for Massage Licensure in the State of Illinois:

Soma will fund the initial licensing fees for massage licensure in Illinois.

Career Support Services:
The Soma Institute, through its Practice Management course, offers a comprehensive career-planning program designed to help you successfully reach your career goals by enabling you to:

• Identify your career goals and preferences
• Develop effective job-search methods
• Obtain professional critiquing, proofreading, and designing of your resume
• Receive detailed interview coaching and feedback
• Develop marketing strategies to help build your clientele
• Prepare for local, state, and nationwide regulations and licensing
